Hi, just wanted to check if people could confirm. I wanted to use the CS tools 3D stroke (under object presets-tools and helpers) for something but it doesn't seem to work. It looks like the 3D stroke setup uses an old 'Sweep NURBS' object, but this has since been replaced in C4D with the 'Sweep' object. The object shows in the manager but doesn't seem to do anything in the viewport. Changing the reference in the xpresso editor from the Sweep NURBS to a newly created Sweep object doesn't seem to work. Or at least, most of the parameters do not seem to translate.

Anyone have a solution? Which parameter doesn't work?

It seems just fine (R18 demo ).

I will see about screenshots or uploading the project somewhere. But in short answer, I do have a floor and I did think to check if I was moving below it which I am not. The camera is a short distance above the floor and as it approaches the logo at the end, it tilts up as the logo rises. It is something to do with the camera though in that if I delete the last leg (from just before 883 on) of movement on the camera and just have it stop, it renders all the way out without issue. Something about the angling or something is messing it up.

It seems Unity and Vu is the popular framework for AR. I have been playing with the Augmented Reality plugin for c4d. I got it to work once, but that was it.

I realized the latest plugin was for R18 so I grabbed it and messed in R18 with some adequate results, but nothing too exceptional. I used a simple mess, texture and bone structure as recommended, but they failed. I see the is another ARmedia plug for c4d, but it is pretty convoluted. That said, I'm wondering if anyone is actually using C4D to prep augmented reality objects?

Is there an easier way or do I wait to see what R20 brings? So a few weeks ago I had made a post (here) requesting some help with achieving a certain effect in the materials.

Cerbera helped me out extensively with it, so I thought I'd be cool to come back and show what it was for. Basically this was practice in taking something from a concept drawing/sketch, and successfully modelling it.

The drawing came from a friend of mine, everything else is me with guidance from him. I would say that at this point it is 98% done. That last 2% is in corrections to little things like the top 'emitter burn' looking a bit off and some things to do with the UV maps.

Here I present, the Static Beam Energy Saw The vast majority, probably 90%, of the model is done with SDS modelling. Initially it took me only about 8 hours to do the entire thing, but after some feedback, nearly everything was remodeled. The polycount is a number I dont even want to say, making up a total of 410 objects not including instances under cloners and such. I want to do a little animation of the beam activating (in 3D), but I have to still figure that out.

The only thing I have that can possibly do this is TurbulenceFD. That sounds very frustrating:/ Is there a floor object in your scene by any chance, and does the camera dip below it at any point? If it's not that totally random guess, then we are going to need more information to be able to diagnose this. At the very minimum we need a screen grab showing the object manager and the scene. Preferably we need the whole c4d file and all the textures, or at least a simplified version of it that demonstrates the problem. You can upload that to dropbox or similar if it's too big to upload directly. CBR.
